
Today, during the Tekken World Tour 2022 Finals, Tekken Project CEO Katsuhiro Harada and Game Director Kohei “Nakatsu” Ikeda appeared in a video to talk about tekken 8 and its mechanics.
In addition to the explanation, the video shows a lot of gameplay for you to enjoy, providing examples of what the developers are explaining.
We start with an explanation of the “aggressive” keyword and the vision behind the development of the game. We also hear that the developers want to make battles more enjoyable for players in each attack, make it easier for people to understand key moments. and boost changes within matches, and enhance each character’s specialty and unique characteristics.
This was followed by a look at the Rage System, which has been changed from tekken 7. Then we move on to a whole new system, the recoverable gauge and heat system, which is a core element of the game, and lastly, the controller style.

Interestingly, a closed alpha test will be held at select locations around the world to gather feedback on the game’s battle system. It will take place on site, in person. This will start at EVO Japan 2023. The special website to register will open in February, but only registered players will be admitted to the tournament. More details will be shared later.
Harada-san we heard that Combat EX layer developer Arika is helping with the development of Tekken 7.
Last but not least, we have the reveal of Nina Williams as a returning character in the game.

next to the new tekken 8 video, we also received the announcement of the Tekken World Tour 2023, which will continue to feature Tekken 7. It will be divided into different Tournament Events awarding points that will be counted towards qualifying to compete in the Global Finals, which will be completely offline. The full tournament schedule has yet to be announced, but you can watch a trailer below.
