Today, during a live broadcast from japanthe new CEO of Square Enix, Takashi Kiryu, introduced himself to the players of Final Fantasy XIV.

Kiryu-san will replace former CEO Yosuke Matsuda, who is retiring from the company. Matsuda-san himself was present at the live broadcast to say goodbye to the player base, having been quite active in supporting him to final fantasy XIV and often appearing at dedicated events throughout the ten years of his tenure at the helm of the company.

Interestingly, we learn that Kiryu-san is a fellow Light Warrior, as he actively plays final fantasy XIV together with his wife. She is the veteran of the family and often encourages Kiryu-san in his progress in the game.

As can be seen in the images, he was holding the limited edition Fender guitar dedicated to the game, which he bought himself. One of his goals is to help the development team further improve the popular MMORPG.
