Today, HoYoverse revealed a new character coming to its popular free-to-play RPG Genshin Impact in the future.
The new character is called Kirara and she is a nekomata. Her motto is “Cat Upon the Eaves” and she calls herself “Gold Level Courier of the Komaniya Express”. She has a vision of Dendro and her constellation is Arcella.
She is described as follows.
She is a cute little nekomata. She just whispers ‘the package delivery will be delayed’. her in her ear while she sleeps, and she will get up and start outrunning the Gorou General on the battlefield.
The timing of the reveal indicates that it will be added via the game’s gacha with version 3.7. One interesting element is that HoYoverse’s modus operandi typically has them reveal not one, but two characters at this point. The reason behind this change remains unknown, but we may have another character revealed soon.
In the meantime, we already have all the information about version 3.6, which will be released on April 12.
If you’re not familiar with Genshin Impact, it’s currently available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, iOS, and Android. A Nintendo Switch version was announced a long time ago, but HoYoverse fell under the radar and hasn’t said anything since, despite confirming multiple times that it wasn’t cancelled. We will have to wait and see if 2023 will finally be the year of Genshin on the Nintendo console.
