A new trailer is now available Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. Insomniac Games’ follow-up to its beloved open-world superhero title debuted at Sony’s PlayStation Showcase this year. Better yet, it shows off brand new gameplay, as well as some iconic Spider-Man villains.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Gameplay Trailer
The last trailer for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 opens with an intense jungle hunt. Eventually, it is revealed that the hunters are actually followers of the deadly Kraven The Hunter, and the scene ends with him directing his attention to New York.
The trailer then cuts to a new game featuring the wall-crawling prankster. It begins with Peter Parker fighting armored soldiers, all while wearing the iconic black symbiote suit. The game even shows off some new attacks with Peter sprouting several tendrils and taking out multiple opponents. This doesn’t come as much of a surprise as the initial announcement trailer confirmed that the game would feature the villain Venom, whose origins are heavily tied to the suit.
But Peter is not the only superhero in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. In an instant, the gameplay switches from Peter Parker to Miles Morales infiltrating an abandoned warehouse. Miles’ signature gameplay remains the same, including the ability for him to turn invisible and generate bioelectric blasts.
The trailer finally culminates in an intense chase sequence. Speedy boats, flying drones and lots of superhero bombast. In many ways, the extended sequence was reminiscent of another Sony franchise, Uncharted, with its high production values and cinematic tension.
The trailer also provides some tantalizing narrative details about Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. In addition to Kraven’s desire to hunt down the titular hero, another main character appears, The Lizard, who will also play a key role. And with the presence of the black suit allowing for many of Peter Parker’s more aggressive personality traits, it can create some serious tension between him and Miles Morales.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 It will be released in the fall of 2023.
