
CI Games has revealed the lords of the fallen release date, as well as dropping a new gameplay trailer that shows off some of the heavyweight action of the dark fantasy RPG. The game will serve as a kind of reboot of the original 2014 game and will cast you as a Dark Crusader, a warrior tasked with killing the demon god Adyr. An October release date has also been set.
lords of the fallen (which has been variably known as lords of the fallen 2 and the lords of the fallen, formally and informally) has been in development for quite some time, but now, it seems that the project is shaping up quite well. The new trailer shows around X minutes of gameplay, and you can watch it here.

The trailer begins with a voiceover setup. lords of the fallenThe story of , which feels much less complicated than that of its predecessor. The land of Mournstead has fallen thanks to the demon god Adyr, and it’s up to you to restore it. Tonally, the trailer strikes a rather curious balance between classical orchestral fantasy music and, um, Iron Maiden’s “Fear of the Dark.” Hmm.
Regarding the gameplay, lords of the fallen it looks as heavy and brutal as you would expect. The player can be seen fighting a host of hideous-looking monsters, all of whom he feels bear more than a passing resemblance to the works of From Software. Well, you know what they say about talent and genius. Either way, lords of the fallen is shaping up to be a rock-solid dark fantasy RPG on the strength of this gameplay trailer.
lords of the fallen is scheduled to launch for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on October 13. We’ll likely get more information about the game soon, so be sure to stay tuned for more on the world of Mournstead and its inhabitants.
