Console gamers will have the chance to try their hand at the Souls-like anime-style RPG. the little nobeta witch, It will launch on PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch on March 7, 2023.

The words “cutesy” and “souls-like” are rarely used in the same sentence, but the little witch nobeta it takes what we’ve grown accustomed to in the genre and turns it on its head. The developers say that the game sets itself apart from other RPGs with its use of action shooter controls that are combined with various JRPG elements to create a unique gameplay.

An interesting added feature, which we don’t usually see in this type of game, is the difficulty option. Some players aren’t used to wanting to hit their keyboard with a hammer after dying to the same boss 9,000 times in a row, so the ability to switch from Standard to Normal mode is a nice touch. Standard mode is the most basic difficulty mode that is much less simmering and allows for much less stressful gameplay, while normal mode will test your limits and patience like most other Soulsy games do. There are behind-the-scenes talks regarding the addition of a Hard mode, but that has yet to be confirmed at this time.

The 3D action shooter has been available via Steam since September 2022, and the goal of the game is to explore the depths of a twisted and evil castle in search of the secrets it may contain. Along the way, players will come face to face with terrifying creatures and dark spirits that lurk around every corner, and it’s up to them to destroy any imminent threat within the castle walls. You’ll also befriend a mysterious and adorable black cat who seems untouched by the demonic forces at play here. While the game is cute and quite fun, it still gives off that feeling of overwhelming dread as you traverse the castle, which is the key to any good Souls-like game.
