Today, Sega released another video about the upcoming Like a dragon: Ishin!which will finally be released in the West after years of requests from fans of the Yakuza series.
It is worth remembering that it is not exactly the same game titled Ryu Ga Gotoku: Ishin! released only in Japan in 2014 for PS3 and PS4. It’s actually a pretty extensive remake similar to yakuza kiwami games. In fact, the Japanese version is titled “Ryu ga Gotoku Ishin! kiwami.“
One of the many changes introduced with the new version is that some of the characters have been modified to give them the appearance and voice of the popular characters from Yakuza 0, which was released after the original Ishin. One of them is Ito Kashitaro, who this time gets the voice and face of Hitoshi Ozawa. Originally, he was played by Goh Hamazaki.
It’s a similar change to what we saw with Takeda Kanryusai in yesterday’s video.
In today’s video, we get to see a conversation between Ryu Ga Gotoku studio head Masayoshi Yokoyama and Ozawa-san, who talks about returning to the series and bringing back a Bakumatsu period version of his Yakuza 0 character. , Daisaku Kuze.
We also hear about taking the game for the first time to the west and the fact that Ozawa-san had to match his performance to the previous actor to get a good lip sync, which he didn’t have to do for Yakuza 0, but it is. pretty normal for someone who dubs movies.
You can watch the video below.
Like a dragon: Ishin! It will be released on February 21, 2023 for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.
