Today, during Microsoft’s Developer Direct livestream, the house of Xbox and Tango Gameworks revealed the rhythm action game. hifi rush.

The biggest surprise (besides the fact that the game’s presence on the stream wasn’t announced earlier) is that hifi fever launches today for Xbox Series X|S and PC, including Game Pass.

The player assumes the role of a young wannabe rock star named Chai, whose heart is mistakenly fused with an evil corporation’s music player… because evil corporations obviously do that all the time.

The announcement was accompanied by a trailer, which you can watch below.

All actions, including attack and defense, are synchronized with the music, and feeling the rhythm will improve the efficiency of your movements. By the way, the game comes with a vast soundtrack of head-banging original and licensed songs, but a Streamer mode will remove the licenses, so you won’t get a bunch of copyright notices if you decide to upload gameplay.

If you want something more, a Deluxe Edition is also available, which includes the following:

  • Two sets of Chai
  • Seven additional Chai T-shirts
  • 808 themed guitar look
  • 808 alternative skin

In case you were wondering, “Gears” is an in-game currency, and Microsoft mentions that they are “earned through in-game combat and exploration and are not available as purchasable currency.”

Outfits include hairstyle, scarf, jacket, pants, and shoes that can be mixed and matched to your heart’s content. The Deluxe Edition is also available as an upgrade, in case you already own the game and want to get it.
