Square Enix has announced that Dragon Quest Dai’s Adventure: The Bonds of a Hero will end its service on April 24, 2023 at 8 pm PDT.
square led to Twitter to announce that, in fact, its mobile title will end its service in just a few months. The game was initially released at the end of 2021 for IOS and Android. There’s really no context as to why this break is occurring, though the developers say it’s mostly due to the “challenges and practicalities” that come with delivering the most varied and satisfying gameplay possible. The team doesn’t think at this point that they can continue to deliver what they previously had for the game, and things need to end where they are.
There is a roadmap available that shows players how this will all work and shows some updates that will arrive before the end of the service. The first, starting today, is red gems and item packs that are no longer available for purchase. Those who have already accumulated the currency will be able to spend it until the end of the service. The next step will be the end of automatic renewal for Gold Pass users. The final chapters of Dragon Tracks and Bonding Journey will be added before discontinuation, but there is no set date for those releases yet.
Although the service will be coming to an end fairly quickly, Square is making sure to thank those who took the time to play and enjoy their game during the time it was available, and assures players that the final updates will be packed with content. for players to enjoy one last time. To read the full cancellation notice, you can do so at the Dragon Quest website.
