Today, Marvelous Entertainment hosted its Game Showcase 2023, bringing plenty of news about the upcoming lineup of titles for Japanese developers.
The showcase, which was announced a few days ago along with the financials from the developer, lasted about 30 minutes, here you will find all the announcements and trailers for your perusal.
we start with loop8specifically with a trailer that shows the opening scene of this new JRPG that will come of age for PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC on June 6.
Next is the next game. fashion dreamer for Nintendo Switch, which was recently unveiled during a Nintendo Direct. The game allows you to play as a fashion influencer, design your outfits and like other people’s outfits to get them for yourself. We can see extensive customization options, so those who like creative games will probably enjoy this. The game does not have a release date other than “2023”.
MAGIC project has been announced, featuring Hiro Mashima’s character design from Fairy tale and eden zero fame. The game was called a “new frontier” for Marvelous, but no further information was revealed, including platforms and release windows. It is “diligently in development”.
Project LIFE is a role playing game. It is defined as a game that Marvelous has never made before, but still retains that special Marvelous style. We can see colorful concept art that shows fantastic environments that pay homage to the classics of the genre. The game consists of “sailing in the open sea” with a ship. This one too is “diligently in development” with no platform release dates announced.
moving on to the inevitable history of the seasons series, we heard from series manager Hikaru Nakano who showed off a video of the next game in the series, which is yet to be titled. Again, no launch window or platforming was shared, but we do hear that a lot of attention is being paid to the appearance of the player’s farm and surroundings.
One second season story the game is one that “you can play with everyone”, indicating that it will support multiplayer. We may see some pieces of concept art, but we’ll have to wait for more information on these “diligently in development” games.
Then we go to the rune factory series. We received the announcement of two games with the theme “East and West”. A video was shown of a game code called Rune Factory: Project Dragon which definitely focuses on an Asian-like aesthetic, matching the “East” theme. It focuses on the eastern country of the world of the series from which the characters featured in previous games hail. It comes with “much cooler” graphics compared to the cheesy style we’re used to. Dragons will also be important to the story.
Then we got the announcement Rune Factory 6, set on the western continent of Adonea. Again, no platforms or launch windows were provided for any of the games. I’m tired of writing “diligently in development” so I won’t. Oh wait… I just did.
Finally, we have the surprise of “one more thing”, from Marvelous studio and producer FIRST, Kenichiro Tsukuda. Demon X Machine: titanic scion it is finally announced with a brief trailer, but no gameplay, platforms, or release windows.
